Finite Elements Analysis

FEA of a Nerf Blaster Trigger

In this course project, my partner and I modeled, simulated, and analyzed commercially produced mechanical part to a Nerf Stinger SD-1. This was in order to test how its deformation changes under larger loads. The component tested was the trigger. It was a unique part because it included a compliant plastic tab that acts as a spring. The project was completed in Siemens NX and relied on using a swept mesh. The element size used for final results were found through a log H-convergence plot.
